This was actually a short day
hike. The hike started at the trailhead for
the Marion Mountain trail. When arriving you
will see a parking area where you can a branch to
the trail. If you continue about a mile
further you will come to the Marion Mountain Camping
area.
The hike will lead you up through
a series of switchbacks through lush pines.
You will eventually get to a major intersection of
Seven Pines Trail. At this point you are
within the Mt. San Jacinto State Wilderness.
The trail will take to some wonderful scenic rock
out cropping. Just before you get to the
intersection of the Pacific Crest Trail there is a
wonderful rock formation which made a good lunch
area. We stopped here completed lunch and made
our return trip. Sorry not much of a trip
report. Unfortunately I wrote this several
months after the hike.
