I am a firm believer that just because you are in the backcountry this shouldn't mean that your diet should suffer.  I have been pretty creative over the years and learned a few good recipes.  My menu ranges from the quick and simple (just add water ) to the more elaborate meals (usually my dinner).  Follow the Navigation buttons to the left for various recipes.

Below is a sample of what I may plan for a trip.  Normally my lunch and snack stay the same since they are usually eaten while in the midst of hiking and I prefer quick and simple.  I get more creative once I am in camp.  I seem to follow the rule of thumb and it usually works out to about 2 lbs of food/day.  Depending on the condition for my trip it varies +/- 1/2 pound.
